Accept God's Forgiveness

"that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19 NIV "

In this word, we see that the main actor in bringing people back to God is God himself. All we have to do is believe and accept the work that God has done for us.

And the basic thing that I want us to see in this verse here is when he says "not counting people’s sins against them." The biggest thing that bothers Christians today, and maybe you are one of them, is the guilt and judgment of the mistakes and sins you have committed.

But the word says God does not count our mistakes once we are reconciled to him through Christ. The question arises: why do you continue to feel judged and condemned even after you repent and ask God for His forgiveness?

God's intention is not to condemn people he loves; his intention is reconciliation. And if you still feel judged, especially after repenting, then know that it is the enemy who has placed that judgment in your heart so that you continue to be at enmity with God.

Let me explore the means by which the enemy is using to judge and condemn God's people.

Self-judgment: Col 1:21 says, "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled." Our sins make us enemies with God. And they create that mentality in our minds to see that God hates us because of our imperfections. So after repenting, you must ask God to renew your mind because God may forgive you, but you can still be judging yourself and counting your sins while God has forgiven you.

People: Colossians 2:16-17 says, "Let no man therefore judge you..." People have the tendency to count people’s mistakes and sins, and they can judge you to the point you feel God is also judging and counting your sins. Because the people who are doing this may be your fellow believers or spiritual leaders, and they use Scriptures to place judgment on you. But I want to assure you, if you repent, God is faithful; he forgives your sins and doesn't remember them anymore. In Isaiah 43:25, we hear God declare of himself, "I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins."

Satan: Revelation 12:10-12 says: "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down."

We can see the devil as our accuser practically when we read the story of Job. So don't allow your heart and mind to be influenced by the devil, especially when you go before God to pray. Don't listen to any voices which tell you you are not acceptable before God. Have faith in the work of the cross of Jesus. That you are reconciled to God and he is no longer counting your sins.

Now don't allow man or the devil to judge you, accept God's forgiveness, stop judging yourself, and don't accept people’s judgments in your heart.

PRAYER:
Thank you, Father God, for your forgiveness and for reconciling me and you through Christ Jesus. I give my heart to you, remove all judgments, and give me your peace and assurance of my forgiveness, Amen.
