HOW TO DEAL WITH HATRED
"If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. John 15:19"
The way you receive and interpret the hatred shown to you by others will determine how that hatred affects your life.
The first thing to understand is that when someone hates you, it does not mean you are a bad person, no! It is because there is something about you or something you are doing that conflicts with or disrupts their interests.
One sad reality of this world is that the person who stands for justice and truth is often the one who is hated and an enemy to evildoers. This is because the world is corrupt, and people are filled with lust and the desire for worldly things.
One of the main reasons people hate you is jealousy. Cain hated his brother and killed him. Because Able was accepted by God and Cain was not. He was not accepted by God because of his actions. Joseph’s brothers also hated him because of jealousy because he was loved and favoured by their father.
The Pharisees and Sadducees hated Jesus because he did not come from their religious system and because he spoke the truth. They hated Jesus to the point of killing Him. But all this happened not because Jesus was a bad person or he had inherited a curse, neither did he have a spirit of rejection. They decided just to hate him.
You are also not different from Jesus. Don't think negatively of yourself. You are not cursed. You don't have a spirit of rejection. Remember, you are loved and accepted by God. People hate because of who they are not because of who you are. A wise person won't hate you because of your shortcomings and weaknesses, he will show you love and help you to be a better person.
Therefore, the way to deal with hatred is to first understand that the world will hate you because of the blessing that God has placed upon you. But in this situation, remember that God loves you, and His love is enough. God’s love gives you the strength to move forward in life and overcome all forms of hatred.
Prayer: Oh Lord, You are with me, and that is enough for me. I pray that You help me overcome all the hatred of this world.
