HUMILITY BRINGS ANSWERS TO YOUR PRAYERS

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Have you ever wondered why you pray so much yet feel like God is silent? His Word says He is near to the brokenhearted, so why doesn’t He answer when you cry?

The one person God never ignores is someone with a broken and contrite heart. This refers to a person who is in pain, sorrow, or distress and is also Humble. Having both brokenness and humility invites God’s help quickly.

Many cry out to God, but they lack humility. No matter how difficult your situation may be, what moves God to help is the humility in your heart, not the sufferings you are experiencing.

People pray and cry to God because life’s challenges have broken them—some lack jobs, and others face rejection, sickness, or suffering. Perhaps you, too, are dealing with something heavy. But it is very rare for someone to cry because of sin. Adam made a great mistake, and we have not seen him in the Scriptures regretting or crying because of what he did.

Now here’s the question: Do you take the things of God seriously? Are you following His instructions? Are you obeying His Word and listening to the Holy Spirit?

Humility is shown in obedience and submission to what God has commanded. The person God is near to and answers swiftly is one who obeys His Word. When such a person, brokenhearted and distressed, cries out to God, He answers quickly.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for a humble heart that obeys Your commands, so You may be close to me and help me whenever I call. Amen.
