YOU HAVE MANY REASONS TO BE HAPPY



"Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire." — Psalm 37:4 (GNT)


As 2024 comes to an end, Psalm 37:4 reminds us to look to God as the source of our happiness. This verse teaches us to trust God completely—not just for the things we want but for the strength to stay joyful no matter what happens in life.


For many of us, the end of the year can feel disappointing. Maybe some prayers were not answered, or certain goals were not achieved. It’s easy to focus on what didn’t go the way we hoped. But this verse challenges us to think differently. Instead of dwelling on what didn’t happen, we are called to focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness.


When we think about 2024, we may feel tempted to complain about things we didn’t receive or the challenges we faced. But instead of focusing on what went wrong, let’s ask ourselves some important questions:


Did God give me life and health this year?


Did He protect me or my loved ones from harm?


Were there moments of joy, even during hard times?



Psalm 103:2 says, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind he is.” Gratitude helps us see all the ways God has blessed us, big and small. When we focus on what God has done, we let joy grow in our hearts.


When life is hard or our desires remain unmet, we may feel tempted to look for happiness in the wrong places. This could mean relying on material things, unhealthy relationships, or worldly pleasures to make us feel better. While these things might bring short-term happiness, they will never satisfy us fully.


As this year ends, take some time to think about God’s faithfulness in your life. It’s easy to focus on our struggles or unmet desires, but what about the blessings we’ve received? Maybe God answered a prayer you forgot about. Maybe He gave you the strength to get through a hard time. Maybe He provided for your needs in ways you didn’t expect.


So as 2024 comes to an end, make God the focus of your joy. Reflect on His blessings, trust His plans, and rejoice in His goodness. He is faithful, and your happiness is safe in Him.


Prayer: Lord, thank You for all the blessings You have given me this year. Help me to find my joy in You and to trust in Your plans, even when life doesn’t go as I hoped. I know You will fulfil my heart’s desires in Your perfect time. Amen.
