GOD’S TESTIMONY FOR YOU: The Key to Divine Favour
"While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!’” Matthew 17:5 (NKJV)
One of the things people seek most in life is acceptance. We have different talents, gifts, and abilities, but to succeed in any area of life, you must be accepted by people. When people accept you, they will accept what you offer to them; they will accept your gift and talent.
In this verse, we see how God testified about Jesus Christ before His disciples. Even though Jesus was their leader, He still needed someone to confirm that He was truly the Son of God and that His teachings were the truth. This confirmation is what gave him acceptance.
Matthew 17:6 (NKJV) says: " And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid." This shows that we need God to testify about us so that we can have acceptance and receive favor from people. Favor and acceptance come from God.
However, God testified about Jesus because He was pleased with Him. The verse says: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
This means that God testifies of those who please Him. He fights against their enemies in the spiritual realm and speaks well of them to the people who are meant to help them.
Hebrews 11:4 (NKJV) speaks about Abel: "By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks." Notice the phrase: "God testifying of his gifts."
1 John 5:9 (NKJV) also says: "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son." So, just focus on living a life that pleases God, and He will testify for you. He will grant you favor before people. He will command them to bless you and to accept you. Do not waste money or personal influence trying to gain people's approval—they may turn against you. If God testifies for you, that is enough.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to trust in You and live a life that pleases You so that I may find favor with You and before people
