YOU MUST BELIEVE TO RECEIVE GOD’S PROMISES
"Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it." – Hebrews 4:1 (NIV)
Have you ever felt like God’s promises weren’t coming to pass in your life? You’re not alone. Many believers struggle with this, but the Bible teaches us that faith is the key to receiving what God has promised.
God has given us many promises, but some of us have not yet received them. Why? Because after receiving a word of promise, we sometimes become careless, failing to live in a way that allows the promise to be fulfilled. Many people assume that if God has made a promise, it will automatically happen—no matter what.
However, today’s message reminds us that while God has promised us His rest, we must be careful not to miss it. This means it is possible to be given a promise by God and still fail to receive it. When the verse says “let us be careful,” it warns us to live with awareness, knowing that certain actions—or lack of faith—can cause us to miss what God has promised.
Faith is the Key to Receiving God's Promises. There are many things that can keep us from receiving God’s promises, but the biggest one is lack of faith. Hebrews 4:7 says: "For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed."
This verse shows that the people in biblical times failed to receive God's promise because they did not believe. Even today, many believers live in suffering and oppression—not because God’s promises are not true, but because they do not fully trust in them.
Ask Yourself: Do I Truly Believe?
• When you pray for healing, do you believe in God’s promise to heal you?
• Do you believe in God’s blessings?
• Do you believe that you have been set free from the powers of darkness?
To enter into God's rest and peace, you must believe. The rest and peace mentioned here are not just about eternal life in the future. Even now, God can give you peace and rest from your struggles so that you can enjoy life.
Today, choose to believe in God's Word concerning your situation. Speak His promises over your life with faith, and He will fulfill them in His perfect time.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You for all Your promises in my life. Today, I choose to believe every word You have spoken, regardless of my current situation. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk in Your promises. Amen.
