A PERSON WHO IS FROM GOD
"In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother." — 1 John 3:10 (NKJV)
In today’s world, it can be difficult to discern who truly comes from God. Whether in leadership, friendships, spiritual service, or business partnerships, not everyone who enters your life is sent by God. Some people may appear righteous on the surface, but their actions reveal their true nature.
The Bible provides a clear test: A person from God practices righteousness and walks in love. If someone’s life is marked by deceit, oppression, manipulation, or dishonesty, they are not from God—no matter how successful or influential they seem.
When choosing a business partner, friend, or even a spouse, it is crucial to look beyond appearances. Ask yourself: Do they practice righteousness? Are they trustworthy and honest? Do their actions align with God’s Word? Many people can speak well and appear successful, but their character will eventually reveal their true foundation. Proverbs 10:9 says, "He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known." Do not be deceived by outward appearances—examine their actions and motives through God’s wisdom.
True Leadership Reflects God’s Character whether in political, social, or spiritual leadership. A leader from God displays justice, integrity, and love. If a leader promotes hatred, division, and injustice, they are not from God. A true leader ensures justice for all, without favoritism. He loves people and promotes unity, even among those who disagree with him. He leads with humility, fairness, and peace.
If a leader thrives on conflict, vengeance, and oppression, they do not carry God’s purpose. Jesus said, "By their fruits you will know them." (Matthew 7:16). Look at their actions, not just their words.
A true man of God remains faithful in ministry, preaches the truth, and manages church resources with integrity. If a minister, or Pastor prioritizes wealth over righteousness, discriminates against people, or sows division for personal gain, they are not from God. A genuine servant of God preaches the Gospel with sincerity and truth, uses church resources responsibly and transparently, and serves God’s people with humility and love.
Do not be misled by miracles, religious titles, or outward success. Measure their character by God’s Word.
A person who is from God will stand firm in righteousness and love. Do not align yourself with people who do not carry God’s agenda in your life. Seek wisdom, and God will guide you to the right relationships and opportunities.
Prayer: O God of righteousness and love, help me discern those who are truly from You. Grant me wisdom to recognize good and evil, so that I do not enter into agreements with those who do not serve You. Lead me by Your Spirit so that I am not swayed by emotions or persuasive words but that I may follow Your will. Thank You for giving me light to identify true people in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
