COMPLAINING BLOCKS GOD’S BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE
"Be hospitable to one another without complaint." (1 Peter 4:9, AMP)
God’s Word teaches us to be generous and hospitable without complaining. He desires that we support one another during life’s challenges. However, it is crucial to understand that any help we offer should be given willingly and with love—not out of obligation or reluctance. When complaints accompany our giving, the blessings that God has prepared for us can be hindered.
Many people complain when helping others because they expect something in return. When you help someone, do not expect them to repay your kindness in any way. Do not expect them to show you love or generosity simply because you were good to them. While there are wise individuals who appreciate and return kindness whenever possible, your assistance should never come with conditions. It should be an act of love from your heart. God is the one who sees your actions and rewards you accordingly.
Some people also complain because they feel they have done so much good, yet God has not answered their prayers. They expect that because they have helped others, God should respond to them immediately. I remember a woman who needed prayers but was frustrated with God. She said she had paid school fees for other people’s children, prayed for them until they found jobs, got married, and succeeded in life—yet her own children were still unemployed and unmarried. She was deeply hurt, feeling that God had been unfair to her.
But my dear friend, when you do good, do not expect immediate rewards. Do not assume that because you have done good, God must repay you instantly. God’s blessings come in His perfect time.
Sometimes, God prepares you first before releasing your blessings. Wait patiently—do not complain or grumble. Continue doing good, and in His faithfulness, God will bless you in His way and at His appointed time.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to be generous without complaining. Give me the grace to help others with love and patience. Help me trust that Your blessings come in Your perfect time. Amen.
