WHO HAVE YOU PLACED BEFORE YOU? WHO IS LEADING YOUR LIFE?

 "I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved." (Psalm 16:8, NKJV) 


These words from David reveal his firm decision to always put God before him. When he says, "I have set the Lord always before me," he means that God is the leader of his life at all times and in every situation. Whether in times of joy or distress, David chose never to abandon God. He further declares, "Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved," meaning that God is his strength and protector, ensuring that he will not be shaken or defeated in anything he does.

The question I ask you today is: Who is before you? Who have you made the leader of your life? God does not force Himself to be the leader of your life. It is your personal decision to allow Him to lead. Jesus says: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." (Revelation 3:20). This means that God is waiting for you to decide to open the door of your life and let Him take the lead.

David made a wise decision to always put God before him. The word "always" shows that it was not just in certain situations, but in everything. Some people put God first only in specific matters, but in other areas of their lives, they make their own decisions. Others seek God only when they are in trouble, but when things are going well, they ignore Him. Which group do you belong to? God should be the leader of your life in all situations, whether in small or big decisions. When you place God before you, He becomes your protector and defender.

Look again at Psalm 16:8. David says: "Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved." This means that God is his shield and source of strength. God will stand with you and protect you if you make decisions by following His guidance. But if you take steps without God's direction, you cannot be certain of His protection. That is why it is essential to seek God's guidance before making any decision.

Today, take a step of faith. Ask God to lead you in everything. If you have already done so, then live by faith, knowing that God is on your side and will never abandon you.

Prayer: O Lord, I acknowledge that without You, I can do nothing. Today, I choose to always put You before me. Be the leader of my life, guide me, and defend me. Help me never to ignore You in anything. Thank You for Your faithfulness and for never leaving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
