IT IS FOR THE GLORY OF HIS NAME

 "Not for our sake, God, no, not for our sake, but for your name’s sake, show your glory. Do it on account of your merciful love, do it on account of your faithful ways." Psalms 115:1-2 MSG


Sometimes, we think that God does things for us because of our own righteousness or because we have prayed a lot. But that is not the right way to think. God works in our lives so that His Name may be glorified and known across the world. And He does these things for us—His children.

In this Psalm, David was going through a difficult time in his life. His enemies already knew that he trusted in God and that God was his confidence. But when things became hard, he remembered that the battle was not his, but the Lord's.

In verse 2, he prayed and said: “Why should the nations ask us, “Where is your God?” Psalm 115:2 GNTEvenn today, this is what people can say about you.

My message for you today is this: “The Lord says to you, do not be afraid or discouraged because of your enemies; for the battle is not yours, but God's.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)

God is about to do great things in your life so that His Name will be glorified. Because you have been faithful to trust in Him and pray, God will fight for you—for the glory of His Name. Your enemies will know that our God is powerful. They won't say where is your God, because they will see him.

Also, God forgives you and sets you free from your chains for the glory of His Name. Isaiah 43:25 says: “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins."

Even if the enemy tempted you and caused you to fall into sin to destroy your life, God has forgiven you—for the glory of His Name. Not because you gave Him something valuable.

The next verse says: "Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted." (Isaiah 43:26)

So today, have faith. Tell God your case so that He may give you justice. He will not let you be ashamed, and your enemies will not laugh at you. What you need to do is humble yourself before Him and give all the glory back to Him. Amen.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the great things You are about to do in my life for the glory of Your Name. Amen.

MISPLACED FEAR

Matthew 10:28  (NKJV) says: “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”   This is a direct call from Jesus to correct our fears. Many people fear human threats, sickness, poverty, storms, or death. Yet Jesus reminds us that these things can only touch the body. The true danger is sin, because it separates us from God and leads to eternal destruction.
