JESUS BROUGHT YOU GRACE AND FORGIVENESS, NOT CONDEMNATION
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” — John 3:17
As we begin this Easter week, it’s time to reflect on our lives and think about Jesus Christ and why He came to this world.
Now I want this truth to enter your mind and heart: "Jesus Christ did not come to judge you." So, any voice you hear from people or even in your own mind telling you that you are not worthy or that you are condemned — that voice is not from God.
In the book of John 12:47-48, Jesus said:
“And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me and does not receive My words has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.”
Jesus Christ died on the cross so that whoever believes in Him will not be lost, but will have eternal life. He also gave Himself as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins. If you believe in Him and in what He did on the cross, all your sins are forgiven. What you need to do now is live a life that pleases God—remove the old sinful ways and put on Christ and His ways.
And if you make a mistake or sin, the Word of God says:
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” — 1 John 2:1-2
Maybe you feel like you fail every day and you’re not changing, and you think God is tired of you or angry with you. The Word of God says in Hebrews 4:15-16:
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Jesus Christ came to bring us this grace. So don’t give up on yourself, and don’t let anyone judge you and make you feel unworthy. You are valuable to God. So take time to think about all the suffering Jesus went through so that you can have this grace. Then accept it and believe that God loves you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You came to the world to save me. Thank You, because the judgment that was upon me is now removed. Help me to walk in Your grace.
Amen.
