JESUS CHRIST, OUR HIGH PRIEST
"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Hebrews 4:14 (NKJV)"
After the resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven. He went into the Holy of Holies in heaven as a High Priest with his own blood to obtain the salvation of the whole world. And he is forever sited in Heaven as our High Priest always praying for us. One of the things that should give you courage is knowing that Jesus Christ is your High Priest. This is good news because this High Priest, who is now in heaven, lived a life like yours. He was tempted and tested by the devil, just like you. So, He fully understands what you are going through.
The Bible says:
"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15–16 (NKJV)"
So you need to be brave and believe that God hears you—not just because you pray, but because you have a High Priest who prays for you. And He doesn't just pray for you, He also understands your struggles.
If your body is weak, He knows that very well. If you are facing life challenges, Jesus knows them too because He lived on earth. He went through hard times, poverty, rejection, lies, and hatred. Jesus also took away your sicknesses, and He knows the pain you are feeling.
Jesus Christ is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father, praying for you. So don’t give up. Even if you fall, get up again and be strong in this word. Give Him all the burdens that are too heavy for you.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being my High Priest. Today I give You my life—help me in all my weaknesses. Amen.
