HE WATCHES OVER YOU
“For the Lord watches over the righteous and listens to their prayers; but he opposes those who do evil.” — 1 Peter 3:12 (GNT)
It is a natural human desire to feel safe, protected, and noticed. Every person, deep inside, longs for someone to look up to—someone they can trust and count on in times of fear, trouble, or uncertainty. Just like a child who walks boldly into unfamiliar places simply because they know their father is close by. That child may not understand everything happening around them, but they are confident because their father is near.
To the mind of a child, the father is powerful, wise, and always in control. The father knows how to fix things, protect the family, and speak words of comfort. That’s exactly the image God wants us to have of Him—He is our Father.
1 Peter 3:12 reminds us of this truth. The Lord watches over the righteous, and He hears their prayers. That means no situation is hidden from Him. He sees your tears, your quiet thoughts, your silent prayers, and your daily struggles. God’s watchful eyes are always on you, and His ears are always open to your cry.
God is not like a man who gets tired, distracted, or too busy. He never misses a moment. Even when you feel alone, ignored, or forgotten—He is still there. You may not feel it, but your Father is very present. Like the confident child holding the hand of their father, walk through life knowing that God is near. He sees. He hears. He knows.
Yes, sometimes the answers to our prayers don’t come when we expect. But that does not mean God has rejected us. It simply means He has a perfect time for everything. Just because the answer is delayed does not mean it is denied. Stay faithful, stay prayerful, and stay confident—He is watching over you.
Even when enemies rise up, when pain strikes, or when confusion tries to take over, remember: your Father is still with you. And in His time, He will answer you, lift you, and restore you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for always watching over me. Help me trust You more each day. I know You hear me. Amen.
