HEAR YE HIM

In Mark 9:7 (NKJV), the Bible says, “And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!’”

This moment happened during the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain, where He appeared in glory alongside Moses and Elijah. The disciples—especially Peter—were overwhelmed by the experience. Peter, caught up in the moment, suggested building three tabernacles: one for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. A tabernacle is a meeting place, a place of worship and fellowship. By suggesting this, Peter was placing Moses and Elijah—representing the Law and the Prophets—on the same level as Jesus.

However, God interrupted this idea. A cloud appeared, and God’s voice thundered: “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” This was not a mere suggestion; it was a divine command. The presence of Moses and Elijah fades, and Jesus remains alone with the disciples. This powerful moment shows us clearly that although God spoke through the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (Elijah), now He speaks through His Son—Jesus.

This truth is confirmed in Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV): “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…” God used many messengers in the past, but now, the final and full revelation comes through Jesus Christ.

We must stop listening to every other voice that speaks apart from Christ. Not every voice deserves your attention—only the voice of Jesus does. If someone speaks to you about life, purpose, destiny, or the Kingdom of God, let it be the words of Jesus they bring, not their own opinions. Jesus is God’s final word to us. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Now is the time to invest yourself in the Word of God. Study the words of Jesus. Learn what He says about you, your situation, and your future. Don’t settle for secondhand opinions—go straight to the source. Hear Him!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, open my ears to hear You only. Help me follow Your voice above all. Teach me Your ways daily.
