MINISTRY OF ANGELS Part 3 – Messenger of Darkness Vs Messenger of Light
In 2 Corinthians 11:14, the Apostle Paul gives us a powerful warning: “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” This verse is part of a deep discussion in the chapter where Paul exposes false apostles. In verse 13, he clearly states, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.” These are people who claim to be sent by God, yet their mission is to deceive.
The word “angel” simply means “messenger.” In Scripture, angels can be spiritual beings sent by God, but the term is also used for human messengers. This is why it is so important to not only consider the message being delivered to you but also the source of that message. You must ask yourself, “Who sent this messenger into my life?”
Not every person who comes with a Bible or spiritual words is sent by God. Just like Paul warned the Corinthian church, today many people are being influenced, misled, or delayed by messengers of darkness disguised as messengers of light. They may look holy, speak the right words, and even do miracles, but their fruits and hidden intentions are rooted in deception.
This is why spiritual discernment is critical. Only God can give you the wisdom and the clarity to see beyond appearances. Ask Him to open your eyes, to shine His light into every relationship, every teacher, every spiritual authority in your life. Who are the people influencing you? Who are you following on social media, in your church, in your private life? Are they bringing you closer to Christ or away from Him?
Some of these messengers of darkness may be close friends, family members, or even leaders you trust. If God shows you they are not His messengers, it’s time to create distance and align yourself with those truly sent by God.
The ministry of angels is real — both from God and from Satan. But through prayer, wisdom, and the Word of God, you can recognize the difference.
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see clearly. Help me discern true messengers. Protect me from deception. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
