THE DIVINE NATURE
“By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” — 2 Peter 1:4 (NKJV)
This powerful verse opens our eyes to the incredible truth that through God’s promises, we become partakers of His divine nature. This is not a poetic expression—it is a spiritual reality. When we receive Christ Jesus into our lives, something supernatural happens: we are born again by the Spirit of God, and the very nature of God is planted within us.
Before sin entered the world, Adam walked in this divine nature. He was covered in God’s glory, full of wisdom, and had authority over all creation. But when he sinned, the Spirit of God departed from him, and with that, the divine nature also left. Adam became mortal, weak, and vulnerable to the power of darkness, disease, and death. That is why the world today is full of corruption, pain, and suffering—because man is living outside of God’s nature.
But the good news is this: Jesus Christ came to restore us. Through His death and resurrection, those who believe in Him are made new. When you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, you did not just receive forgiveness—you received the life and nature of God in your spirit. You became a new creation, empowered from within.
This divine nature is what gives us power over the enemy. You are not weak. You are not ordinary. You carry the very essence of God within you. The world may try to press you down, but you have already overcome it—because the greater One lives in you (1 John 4:4). You are not a victim of circumstances; you are a victor by divine birth.
So do not doubt yourself. God is in you. You have power over darkness. You are an heir to divine promises. Speak it. Believe it. Live it. Let your life reflect the truth that the nature of God dwells in you. Confess it today and renew your mind to this powerful reality.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me Your divine nature. I walk in victory, power, and truth every single day. Amen.
