THE ECHOES OF GOD’S VOICE
“God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.” — Psalms 62:11 (NKJV)
This verse reveals a profound truth: God speaks once, but it can be heard more than once. Why? Because His voice carries weight and power that cannot be ignored or denied. When God speaks, it is final, eternal, and full of purpose.
The book of Isaiah confirms this: “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
God’s Word is not casual speech—it is active and effective. When He declares something, it must come to pass. But many of us struggle with obedience. Sometimes we resist God’s voice due to fear, pride, or hardness of heart. And yet, even when we reject it the first time, His Word keeps echoing.
Psalm 62:11 tells us that the psalmist heard it twice—not because God repeated Himself, but because the listener didn't truly receive it the first time. A hard heart is like a stone wall: when sound hits it, it bounces back. This is what creates an echo.
God may have spoken to you once, but because your heart was not open, His voice echoed. You may hear that same message again through a sermon, a friend, a song, or even a random conversation. That’s not a coincidence—it’s the echo of God’s voice. His word will find a way to reach you, because it cannot return to Him without accomplishing what it was sent to do.
Some of us are on our second or third echo of the same divine instruction. Please don’t ignore it again. Every echo is a sign of God’s mercy and persistence. He doesn’t give up on you.
So today, if you hear His voice, don’t harden your heart. Obey. Trust Him. His Word is life, direction, and power.
Prayer: Lord, open my heart to hear and obey Your voice. Remove doubt and give me faith to follow You fully. Amen.
