FEAR IS THE ENEMY

II Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) says: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Fear is not part of God’s gift to us. Instead, He has given us strength, love, and self-control. Fear is like a chain that keeps us from walking in victory. It blinds us from seeing who we are in Christ and stops us from living the life God designed for us.

God created you to be strong. You are made in His image, and His Spirit gives you boldness. Fear does not come from Him. When fear controls your life, you cannot win spiritual battles, and you cannot stand strong in the face of life’s challenges. That is why this week we will learn how to overcome fear. But first, you must see fear as your enemy because it is not from God.

Some people even joke and feel proud of their fears, thinking that being afraid is normal or good. But fear is not something to celebrate. It steals your peace and kills your progress. Some are afraid of small things like cockroaches or mice—the very animals God gave man authority to dominate. Some are afraid of witches, demons, or curses. Others are afraid to begin something new, like a business, a ministry, or even a new step in life. Fear is the enemy no matter what you are afraid of.

Instead of giving in to fear, ask God for His boldness and power. Pray that He helps you to see fear as an enemy standing between you and the blessings He promised you. When you reject fear and embrace God’s Spirit, you will walk in strength, love, and a sound mind.

Prayer: Lord, fill me with your power, love, and sound mind, and remove all fear.
