SHINE YOUR LIGHT

 Matthew 5:16 NKJV Says; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”


Jesus spoke these words in the Sermon on the Mount, teaching His disciples about living in a way that reflects God’s nature. It is showing us that the life of a believer is not meant to be hidden. Just as light removes darkness and makes things clear, a Christian must live openly and differently so that people may see their good works.

These works are not for personal praise, but for the glory of God. When others see your kindness, forgiveness, patience, and love, they are pointed to God as the source. Light in this context is not just words, but actions backed by faith. To shine your light is to live a Christ-centered life that testifies to the reality of God.

The world is full of darkness, sin, hatred, lies, and confusion. The Bible says, “The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). But the Bible Says; “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5 NKJV). When He saved us, He placed His light in us so that we can shine to others.

People know that you are of God, and they expect you to live as a Christian. Shining your light means showing love, kindness, forgiveness, and goodness. Your actions preach louder than your words.

Being light also means people in darkness will come to you. Don’t reject them or judge them. Guide them gently. If they offend you, forgive them, give them a second chance, and a third, even a fourth chance. Jesus said this about how many times you should forgive; “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22 ).

Do not complain that people do not return your kindness. You are the light—you give because God gives to you. Your source of strength and energy comes from the greater Light, God Himself. Keep your eyes on Him and keep shining.

Prayer: Lord, make me a light in this dark world, always shining for Your glory.

THE WISEST THING TO DO IN YOUR LIFE

DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
