WORK LIKE GOD IS YOUR BOSS

 Colossians 3:23 NIV Says; "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."


Your work is not just about pleasing people or earning money. Every task, big or small, should be done with excellence, as though God Himself is our boss. Paul reminds us that our ultimate accountability is not to human managers or employers, but to God. When we shift our mindset from working for people to working for God, our attitude, effort, and results change. Work becomes worship. Ordinary tasks become sacred when done for God’s glory.

One of the problems among Christians is thinking that only preachers and ministers are doing God’s work. But the truth is, all legal and ethical professions are from God. He is the giver of every gift and talent. Sadly, many people use their God-given skills for evil, but that does not change the fact that skills and abilities come from Him.

In Exodus 31:1–5 NIV, God filled Bezalel with His Spirit, wisdom, knowledge, and artistic skills to design and build the tabernacle. This shows that God Himself empowers professionals—whether artists, builders, or craftsmen—for His purposes. Your work as a nurse, doctor, teacher, engineer, farmer, or businessperson is also God’s work when done in righteousness. That is your calling.

So whatever you do is service to God, because your work helps people survive and improve their lives. Do not curse your job or treat it only as a way to get money. From today, treat your job as your ministry and calling.

Entrepreneurs and business owners must also see their work as service to God. Your business is your ministry. It must benefit people, not destroy them. It should glorify God and advance His kingdom. Ask yourself daily: “If I stand before judgment seat of God, what will I say I did with the skills, opportunities, and business He gave me?”

Living for God means doing everything for His glory, whether at your job, school, or business. We are all workers in His field.

Prayer: Lord, help me to work with all my heart, honoring You in everything I do.

THE WISEST THING TO DO IN YOUR LIFE

DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
