DISCPLINE WILL TAKE YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO GO
Proverbs 13:18 MSG says, “Refuse discipline and end up homeless; embrace correction and live an honored life.”
Discipline is the key to honor, growth, and stability in life. When you refuse correction, you close the doors to progress and lose the respect of others. The Message Bible uses the word “homeless” to describe the result of rejecting discipline—not only as lacking a house but also lacking acceptance and belonging. Without discipline, no one will trust or welcome you, because people know that an undisciplined person destroys what others have built.
For you to reach your destiny, you need people who will receive you, empower you, and open doors for you. No one rises alone. Even Jesus had disciples, and Joseph’s promotion in Egypt came through Pharaoh accepting him. When God wants to bless or lift you, He uses people. But people only support those who are disciplined, trustworthy, and dependable. Without discipline, even great talent becomes useless because no one wants to work with someone careless or inconsistent.
As you pray for God to prosper your plans and make your dreams come true, also pray for the spirit of discipline. Discipline gives you acceptance and makes others ready to support your vision. It helps you stay focused, humble, and consistent. Every calling, job, or gift needs discipline to grow and bear fruit.
Remember, you are not born perfect. You will make mistakes. But the biggest mistake is refusing correction. God has placed wise people around you to guide you. Listen to them and be willing to change. Above all, accept correction from Jesus through His Word and the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Discipline will take you where you want to go in life.
Prayer: Lord, give me the spirit of discipline, to accept correction and walk faithfully toward my destiny. Amen.
