IDENTIFYING AND REMOVING INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL OBSTACLES OF YOUR VISION
Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV) says; "“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”"
Every believer has a unique course to run, yet many struggle under unnecessary burdens emotional wounds, fear, guilt, unhealthy habits, or relationships that drain purpose. The “weights” are not always sinful acts; they are anything that slows our spiritual momentum. God calls us to lighten our load, not to punish us, but to empower us to finish strong. Letting go becomes a form of worship and faith.
Life’s journey is a race marked by divine purpose. But even the most talented runner will stumble if weighed down. Hebrews 12:1 invites us to run with endurance, but only after we lay aside every weight. This verse reveals that the obstacle isn’t always external sometimes, it’s what we carry within.
Weights can take many forms: fear of failure, resentment, guilt, procrastination, or even the pressure to please others. These unseen burdens slow our progress toward God’s plan. To overcome obstacles in your strategies and life plans, you must first identify what’s weighing you down spiritually and emotionally.
God doesn’t want to remove blessings, He wants to remove burdens. When you release unnecessary weight, you make room for grace, creativity, and strength. The process begins with honesty before God. David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties.” (Psalm 139:23). It’s in that place of surrender that healing begins.
Sometimes, the hindrance is sin, something we keep returning to that derails our focus. The good news is, Christ has already won the victory. Freedom is available; we only need to yield and trust. Once the weights are laid aside, we can “run with endurance,” meaning consistency, patience, and resilience.
Your divine strategy will thrive when you are light enough to move at God’s pace. Don’t let yesterday’s pain or today’s distractions rob you of tomorrow’s calling. Freedom is not found in striving but in surrender. Let go and let God lead your race to completion.
Prayer: Lord, help me lay down every weight and run freely in Your divine purpose.
