FREEDOM FROM FALSE IDENTITY

 Romans 8:15 (NKJV) says, “You have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption.” 


A spirit of slavery brings fear, shame, guilt, and a constant feeling of never being enough. It traps a person in old habits, old labels, and old memories that try to define who they are. This kind of slavery keeps the heart chained to lies that whisper, “You are alone, you are not worthy, you are helpless.”

But the Scripture says we have received something completely different, the Spirit of adoption. This means God brings us close, accepts us, calls us His children, and gives us full identity in Christ. Adoption breaks fear. Adoption breaks insecurity. Adoption gives us boldness, confidence, and a new nature. When God calls you His child, no lie of the enemy is allowed to define you again.

Many people today walk through life with painful labels stuck to their hearts. Some call themselves “addict,” “victim,” “failure,” “unlovable,” “broken,” or “not good enough.” These labels often come from past mistakes, painful experiences, or hurtful words spoken by others. Over time, these false identities start to feel real. They shape how people think, act, and relate to God.

But the Holy Spirit comes to break the power of these lies. According to 2 Corinthians 10:4–5, spiritual strongholds are destroyed by God’s power. Strongholds are thoughts and beliefs that oppose God’s truth. They are lies that have been repeated until they appear true. The Holy Spirit exposes them and replaces them with the truth of God’s Word.

Romans 12:2 teaches that real transformation happens when the mind is renewed. The Holy Spirit works through Scripture, prayer, and truth to rebuild your thinking. He teaches you to see yourself the way God sees you loved, chosen, forgiven, accepted, and called. When your mind is renewed, your identity changes. You no longer walk under the weight of old labels. You walk in the freedom of who you truly are in Christ.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, renew my mind, break every false identity, and help me walk in the freedom of Your truth.

THE WISEST THING TO DO IN YOUR LIFE

And those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever.” This verse speaks about the reward God will give His faithful people on the last day. MISPLACED FEAR

Matthew 10:28  (NKJV) says: “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”   This is a direct call from Jesus to correct our fears. Many people fear human threats, sickness, poverty, storms, or death. Yet Jesus reminds us that these things can only touch the body. The true danger is sin, because it separates us from God and leads to eternal destruction. The only fear that matters is the fear of God, for He alone holds the destiny of both the body and soul. One day I was in a garage fixing my car.
