HE REMINDS YOU WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT YOU
John 14:26 (NKJV) says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
This verse gives us a clear revelation of the Holy Spirit’s role in the life of a believer. Jesus promised that after He returned to the Father, the Holy Spirit would come to guide, teach, and strengthen His followers. The Holy Spirit does not bring new ideas that contradict Jesus; instead, He reminds you of what Jesus already said. He brings back to your heart the truths that shape your identity, your purpose, and your walk with God.
When the Bible says “He teaches you all things and brings to your remembrance,” it means the Holy Spirit reminds you of what Jesus has spoken about who you now are. Many times, you may forget that you are forgiven, loved, accepted, and made new in Christ. The Holy Spirit comes to lift your eyes again to the truth and to silence the lies of fear, guilt, and shame. His teaching is not only about information; it is about transformation.
There is also a difference between the Holy Spirit revealing your identity and reminding you of your identity. Revelation happens when He first opens your eyes to the truth of who you are in Christ. But because of life’s challenges, personal failures, or spiritual battles, you may forget what God has said about you. Doubts rise, fear whispers, and guilt tries to speak louder than grace. That is when the Holy Spirit steps in as your Helper. He reminds you again and again: “You are who God says you are.” He brings the truth back to life in your heart so that you can walk in confidence and freedom.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” The Holy Spirit keeps this truth alive inside you. He reminds you that you are not who you used to be. You are forgiven and clean (Ephesians 1:7). You are righteous and accepted (2 Corinthians 5:21). You are chosen, holy, and loved (Colossians 3:12). You are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). These truths are your identity, and the Holy Spirit’s ministry is to keep them fresh and alive in your heart every day.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, keep reminding me of who I am in Christ and strengthen me to walk in this truth daily.
