THE GRACE WE HAVE IN CHRIST

II Timothy 2:1 NKJV Says: “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

In this verse, Apostle Paul is writing to his spiritual son Timothy, encouraging him to stand firm and strong in the grace that is found in Christ Jesus. Paul knew that life and ministry are full of trials, discouragement, and moments of weakness. But instead of relying on human ability, he pointed Timothy to depend on the divine strength that comes from the grace of Christ. Grace is not just God’s favor; it is also His empowering presence that enables a believer to overcome every situation. Grace is the undeserved favor and divine strength that God gives us through Christ. It is the love of God expressed freely to us even when we do not deserve it. Grace lifts us up when we fall and gives us power when we are weak. There are moments in life when you feel like giving up because of the challenges you face. Sometimes you may feel unworthy of God’s help because of your failures or weaknesses. But this verse tells you to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. You are not called to be strong by your own strength, but by the strength that grace supplies. First, you receive strength to face your challenges because you know that the grace of God is upon you through Christ. This awareness brings courage and inner peace in the middle of trouble. Second, you must become bold in what you do, relying fully on the grace of God. Here, the grace of God becomes your propelling power. It gives you confidence to move forward, even when everything looks difficult. Paul’s message to Timothy was simple yet powerful: rely on the grace of God and nothing else. Many people today still make the mistake of leaving grace out of the equation of their success. They think it is by effort, knowledge, or perfection. But the truth is, it is not your perfection that qualifies you for anything. By His grace, God can make you anything He wants. He can prosper you, heal you, and restore you. The best part is that Paul said, “the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” And Jesus is in you, and you are in Him. That means you already have His grace—it is not something you are waiting to receive. Believe it, walk in it, and let nothing convince you otherwise. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace in me. Help me to stand strong in it daily.
