GOD GIVES STRENGTH TO ENDURE UNTIL DELIVERANCE COMES
Psalms 9:9 NKJV says, “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.”
To be oppressed means to be pushed down, mistreated, or burdened beyond your strength. Yet God declares that He Himself becomes a refuge to such people. A refuge is a safe place, a shelter, a covering where no enemy can reach you. It means God does not leave you exposed, helpless, or abandoned. Even when trouble surrounds you, He becomes your hiding place. He does not only see your pain, but He provides protection, comfort, and strength until the time of deliverance comes.
Everything with God has its own time. Our God is never early and never late. He acts at the perfect moment. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” You may be in a season of pain, oppression, or suffering. You may feel like God is taking too long or maybe He does not see what you are going through. But the truth is this: God sees everything, He knows everything, and He cares for you more than you know.
Now the Word of God says clearly, He is our refuge. A refuge is not a permanent home, but a temporary place where you hide while running from danger. This means your suffering is not permanent. It will not last forever. God gives you shelter, strength, and peace while He works behind the scenes on your matter. He covers you in that abusive marriage, that painful relationship, that unfair job, that place where you are being mistreated. You are not alone. God is there with you.
He will keep you safe until the appointed time of deliverance comes. When that time arrives, God will not only rescue you but also deal with your oppressor completely. Just as Israel was oppressed in Egypt for four hundred years, God did not abandon them. He was with them, He blessed them, He increased them, and He made them a great nation even under oppression. The same God is with you. Do not give up. You are not alone. God is your refuge in times of trouble.
Prayer: Lord, give me strength to endure, protect me, and deliver me at your perfect time, in Jesus’ Name.
