GOD’S MERCIES PROTECTED YOU TO THIS DAY
Lamentations 3:22 NKJV says, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.”
Our survival is not by strength, wisdom, or luck. It is by the mercy of God. To be “not consumed” means we were close to danger, judgment, and destruction, yet God stepped in. His compassions did not end. They did not reduce with time. They did not fail because of our weaknesses. God’s mercy stood between us and what could have destroyed us.
As you reach the end of the year, it is time to reflect deeply on everything that happened from the beginning of this year until now. Some days were joyful, others were painful. Some seasons were clear, others confusing. Yet through all of it, you are still standing. That alone is proof that God’s mercies were upon you.
When we talk about mercy, we mean forgiveness and kindness shown to someone who deserved punishment. There were moments this year when mistakes were made. Wrong decisions were taken. Some words were spoken that should not have been spoken. Some actions opened doors that should have remained closed. If God had judged us strictly, we would not be here today. But He chose mercy.
God’s mercies kept you. If not for His mercy, the enemy would have consumed you and destroyed your life, your peace, and your future. There were battles you did not see. There were traps set for you that you never noticed. Yet God, out of His great compassion, rescued you again and again.
As you reflect honestly, you will realize that some mistakes you made this year could have ruined you. Some choices could have ended your journey. But God did not allow that to happen. He corrected you with love, not destruction. He covered you when you were exposed. He lifted you when you were weak.
Not only Satan, but even people can be enemies. Some wanted to see you fall and fail. Some spoke against you. Some waited for your downfall. But God did not hand you over to them. He stayed with you, guided you, and protected you.
Even if you did not get everything you wanted this year, be grateful. The gift of life is still the greatest. To see another day is pure grace. God’s mercies come in many forms. It is time to thank Him and be grateful for all He has done.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your mercy that preserved my life and future throughout this year.
