STRENGTH IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT

Ephesians 6:10 NKJV says, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

This is a strong conclusion from Apostle Paul after teaching deep truths about salvation, grace, unity, love, holiness, and spiritual order in the life of a believer. Paul does not end his teaching with rules or instructions alone. He ends by pointing believers to the true source of victory, which is strength that comes from God Himself.

The word “Finally” means reaching the top, coming to the end, or concluding a matter. Paul was concluding his message to the church in Ephesus about the secret of the Kingdom of God and how to live a holy and pleasing life. After explaining all these truths, he reminds them that knowledge alone is not enough. Good behavior alone is not enough. Discipline alone is not enough. There is one final and very important requirement. A believer must be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

This teaches us that after doing everything we know as born again Christians, there is still something more we must do. We must be strong in the Lord. Without this strength, a believer can be drawn away, deceived, or slowly weakened. Without strength in the Lord, it is easy to fall. That is why Paul continues by explaining the armor of God. The armor is given so that we may stand. This means that without strength, standing is impossible.

Paul clearly says that our strength is not from ourselves. He says we must be strong in the power of His might. This means our strength comes from God’s power, not our own effort. We are strong because we are connected to His mighty power. It is his power that gives us the ability to resist the enemy, endure pressure, and remain standing during spiritual attacks.

Only after a believer is strong and fully dependent on God’s might can they put on the whole armor of God correctly. Spiritual weapons do not work well in human strength. They work when we rely fully on God. There are some people says "I can defeat my enemies because I pray a lot"

Do not depend on your own strength to win battles. It is not about how long you pray, how loud you pray, how gifted you are, or how anointed you appear. To be strong in the power of his might is to shift your faith from what you have done to what Jesus did on the cross. His power brings answers. His power brings victory. Rely on Him always.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen me in Your mighty power so I may always stand.
