TIME FOR REFLECTION AND THANKSGIVING

psalm 103:2 NKJV says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits.”

This is a strong call to personal remembrance. The psalmist speaks to his own soul, not to people around him. He commands his inner life to bless the Lord. He also gives a warning. Do not forget all His benefits. This means God has done many good things that can be easily forgotten when life becomes heavy. Thanksgiving is a choice of the heart, not a reaction to perfect situations.

As only one day is left for this year to finish, it is clear that it is by God’s grace that you have reached this far. Many plans were made at the beginning of the year. Some were fulfilled and some were not. Still, you are here. Life itself is proof of God’s mercy. This moment calls you to slow down, think deeply, and reflect on your life and everything that happened to you this year.

The psalmist understood pain and struggle. He may have gone through loss, hardship, and heartbreak. Yet he chose to remind his soul of God’s goodness. He did not deny the pain, but he refused to let pain speak louder than gratitude. He told his soul not to focus on negativity. He chose to remember the good things God had done for him.

This is also a message for you. There were difficult moments this year. Things may not have gone as you wanted. Still, God did good things in your life. He protected you. He provided for you. He kept you alive. That alone is a great reason to praise Him. God redeemed you from many unseen dangers and preserved your life.

Speak to your heart and soul today. Tell yourself to praise the Lord. Choose thanksgiving over complaint. When you remember God’s benefits, your strength is renewed. God deserves your praise and gratitude, now and always.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for life, mercy, protection, and grace throughout this year.
