WITH GOD, THE END WILL BE A BLESSING

Psalm 66:12 NKJV says, “You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.”

This psalmist provides us with a profound picture of God’s people's journey. It shows pressure, suffering, danger, and pain. Men rode over their heads, meaning they were oppressed, defeated, and treated badly. They passed through fire and water, which represent extreme trials, testing seasons, and moments where survival itself seemed uncertain. Yet the verse does not end in pain. It ends in victory. God brought them out to rich fulfillment. The same God who allowed the process also guaranteed the outcome.

As we approach the end of the year, many things come to our minds. This year carried both joy and sorrow. Some days were full of laughter, and some days were full of tears. Some people enjoyed progress, while others endured heavy trials. Many passed through fire and floods, sickness, loss, rejection, delay, and disappointment. Yet one truth remains. God was faithful. He preserved your life, kept your mind, and brought you to the end of the year. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we also celebrate God’s protection and His mighty power that kept us to this very day.

Psalm 66 is a psalm of praise. It remembers the awesome works of God and His faithfulness to Israel. The psalmist looks back and testifies of what God did for the nation. This psalm also reflects our lives today. It shows the goodness of God and His power to deliver His people when they are in trouble. God has not changed. What He did then, He still does now.

When the psalmist said, “You have caused men to ride over our heads,” he understood that God was still in control. God is always with those who pray and depend on Him. Yet He sometimes allows His people to pass through hard seasons. These trials are not a sign of abandonment, but a process allowed by God for a greater purpose.

The good news is this. God will never let His people perish. Though you go through fire and water, you will not be destroyed. His power brings His people to rich fulfillment. But the good news is that God will never allow His people to perish. Other translations say, “You brought us to a place of abundance” (Psalm 66:12 NIV). The Good News Translation says, “But now you have brought us to a place of safety.” Other translations use words such as “plenty,” “safety,” and “refreshment.”

This end of the year is not your end. God has His own calendar for you. Your enemies do not decide your final chapter. Scripture declares that your end is a place of abundance. With God, the end will be a blessing.

Prayer: Father, thank You for bringing me through trials into abundance, safety, and divine fulfillment.
