GOD’S GUIDANCE FOR THIS YEAR

Psalm 143:10 (GNT) says, “You are my God; teach me to do your will. Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.”

This verse is a deep and humble prayer from the psalmist. He begins by recognizing who God is to him. By saying, “You are my God,” he declares a personal relationship, not a distant belief. He is saying, “I belong to You, and You rule my life.” This statement shows trust, surrender, and dependence. The psalmist is not trusting his strength or wisdom but God alone.

When he asks, “Teach me to do your will,” he admits that he does not know everything. He understands that God’s will is better than his own plans. This is a prayer for obedience and learning. It shows a heart that is ready to listen and follow. Doing God’s will requires humility, patience, and daily guidance. The psalmist wants God to shape his decisions and actions.

Next, he prays, “Be good to me.” This is a request for God’s goodness, mercy, and favor. The psalmist knows that God is good by nature. When God’s goodness rests on a person, life becomes different. Doors open, help comes unexpectedly, and favor follows. God’s goodness brings peace, strength, and hope even in difficult times.

Finally, he says, “Guide me on a safe path.” This shows the need for protection and direction. Life is full of hidden dangers and wrong paths. Only God knows what lies ahead. From January to December, God sees everything clearly. The psalmist understands that safety is not just physical but spiritual and emotional too. God’s guidance keeps us from harm and leads us to purpose.

When the psalmist says, “You are my God,” it means he depends fully on God. This year, do not depart from Him. Stay close to Him daily. Ask God for discipline in worship and prayer. Discipline helps you remain faithful even when you feel tired or busy. Without God’s guidance, you may not know what to do or what is right. But when you rely on Him, He leads you clearly. Pray daily for His goodness to be upon you, and trust Him to guide you on a safe path all year.

Prayer: Lord, guide me, teach me Your will, keep me close, and lead me safely this year.
