YOUR FUTURE IS ASSURED, GOD WON'T ABANDON YOU
Psalm 138:8 NLT says, “The Lord will work out his plans for my life for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.”
This verse is a strong declaration of trust in God. David is not guessing about his future. He is confident that God is actively involved in his life. He believes that God has plans and that those plans will surely be completed. David also rests in one truth. God’s faithful love never ends. Because God is the Creator, David knows he will not be abandoned.
In this Psalm, David reached a stage in life where fear and uncertainty were real. He looked at his surroundings, the enemies around him, and the dangers ahead. His heart was troubled. The future was not clear. He did not know what tomorrow would bring. Instead of pretending everything was fine, David turned to God for comfort. He reminded himself of God’s love and faithfulness.
This is where true strength begins.
David was fully aware of the dangers he faced. Yet, he also recognized the presence of God with him in that very moment. This was not about the future only but about the present reality of God’s protection. In Psalm 138:7 NLT he said, “Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.” David acknowledged trouble, but he trusted God more than the trouble.
Faith does not deny facts. David did not say enemies were not there. They were real. Faith changed what those enemies expected. Faith is not about what enemies want. Faith is about what you believe, what you declare, and what God has already spoken about you. When faith speaks, fear loses its power.
Because of these challenges, David went to God in prayer concerning his future. He needed assurance. He made a powerful declaration that the Lord would work out His plans for his life. He trusted God’s love to keep him. He prayed, “Don’t abandon me, for you made me.” God answered that prayer. David was not abandoned. God made him a strong king and stayed with him through every season.
My message to you today is simple. God will not abandon you. Your future is safe in His hands. His love for you is everlasting. No matter what is happening now, God will make a way. Your marriage, career, and business have hope. Even if you see darkness, God is light. Do not abandon God, because he won't abandon you. Keep believing. Keep praying. Do not quit. Trust Him like David did.
Prayer: Lord, I trust You with my future. Complete Your plans and never leave me.
