DIVINE WISDOM

Job 28:28 (NKJV) says, “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

This verse reveals God’s definition of wisdom. Many people think wisdom is simply knowledge, intelligence, or education. But God shows that true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. The fear of God does not mean being terrified of Him. It means honoring Him, respecting His authority, and living in obedience to His commands. According to this verse, wisdom is not just something you know, it is something you live.

Many people desire to become better individuals and to live honorable lives. We all want to do what is right and acceptable. People spend years studying, learning, and gaining knowledge to improve their behavior and character. They hope their lives will be respected and admired by others. Knowledge can help shape our thinking and guide our actions.

That is why wisdom is very important. Wisdom helps you make good decisions. It helps you face life’s challenges and solve problems. A wise person can navigate difficult situations and choose the right path. Without wisdom, knowledge alone cannot guide your life correctly.

Today there are many forms of wisdom in the world. Different cultures, religions, and philosophies offer advice about how to live. Many of these teachings contain some truth and can help people in certain ways. However, they are not perfect. They do not always provide complete answers to the deep problems of life.

The perfect wisdom comes from God. God’s wisdom is pure, complete, and trustworthy. But how do we receive this wisdom? The Bible clearly tells us: “The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom.” This means that wisdom begins when we honor God and submit to Him.

God’s wisdom does not come only through studying or reading the bible. It is practical wisdom. It is shown through the way we live. When you obey God, you are walking in wisdom. When you respect His commands, you are practicing wisdom. To be wise is to obey God.

The verse also says that “to depart from evil is understanding.” This means that a person who truly understands life will avoid evil. Anyone who practices evil is harming himself. If your mind works correctly and you have understanding, you will avoid actions that destroy your life.

Wisdom and understanding work together. If you want to become wise, begin by fearing God. Your reverence for Him will guide you away from evil and foolish behavior. The Bible even says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). A sign of foolishness is ignoring God.

Today ask God to give you divine wisdom. Ask Him to help you fear Him and walk away from evil so you can live an honorable life.

Prayer: Lord, give me wisdom to fear You and strength to turn away from evil.
