Stay pure, no matter what
Philippians 1:10 "That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ"
Human nature cannot accept and obey God's commandments. It is only by the grace of God that we are able to turn away from sin and accept the things of God. That is why the Apostle Paul prayed for the Philippians to be able to accept what is good and to have a pure heart.
Without a doubt, you are one of the many people who pray to God every day to cleanse you and give you a pure heart. It has become our custom to pray prayers of sanctification, especially to purify our hearts according to 1 John 3:3.
One thing many people do not realize is that Satan is working hard to push us and tempt us to accept sin and evil. Many governments around the world are passing laws to legalize sins and evils that even our traditional cultures used to reject.
God's word today urges us to accept what is good and hold onto it until the end. And here there is a cost because we are greatly tempted by this world to do evil and offend God and perish in eternal judgment.
There are many Christians who have rejected what is good and accepted evil; they are in church but have rejected God. Romans 1:28 says these people rejected God, and God let them follow their lust.
Perhaps you are in a situation where you are tempted to accept evil; God tells you not to accept it, choose what is good and have a pure heart so that on the Last Day, you will not be judged.
PRAYER: O LORD, I pray that you give me the strength of your Holy Spirit to overcome all the temptations of this world. I ask for the ability to stand firm in purity and in doing good. Amen.
”How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.“ Psalms 119:9-11 NIV
