KNOW YOUR PURPOSE 2 (Work Skillful & Diligently)

Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. Proverbs 22:29

Once you know your purpose here on Earth, what follows is diligence. When God gives you work, He also grants you the grace to succeed, even if you feel unworthy or find the work difficult. Your work will indeed be honored when you are diligent in this grace. Apostle Paul said:

"For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:9-10"

Some people think that serving God or being called by God means you must be a preacher like a Pastor, Evangelist, or Priest. This is not true. Every legitimate work that enables a person to live well is a gift from God. God purposely created you to do that work.

Another perspective in our society is that some jobs and professions are seen as more meaningful and beneficial than others. For instance, a parent feels proud when their child wants to become an engineer, doctor, or accountant.

However, in some cultures, certain jobs are looked down upon, and it is difficult to convince someone that this job is their God-given purpose. These jobs, like tailoring or shoemaking, pottery are often seen as they are for those who fail in school and people who are not intelligent. In some communities, these jobs are disrespected. Which is very wrong. Every Work is honorable and profitable if you do it skillfully and diligently.

I have a neighbor who started to make cultural sandals using animal skins with local tools. It is a kind of work that people don't value. But he loved it and did it diligently and he improved his skills and business by producing different products, he bought machines, people loved his product, and his business grew. A few days ago, he bought land worth 1 million dollars to establish his large factory.

Your work will be blessed and respectable if you respect and diligently perform it. The important thing you need to understand today is that the only job without honor is the one that God has forbidden and which destroys people's lives.

Do what God created you to do. Skillful and diligently, you will get profit and honor. By God's grace, you will stand before Kings.

Prayer: Oh, LORD, grant me diligence and wisdom in my life. I pray that I may value and love the work You created me to do. Amen.
