DO NOT COMPLAIN, GOD HAS NOT FORSAKEN YOU
DO NOT COMPLAIN, GOD HAS NOT FORSAKEN YOU
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing” – Philippians 2:14 (NIV)
When God created you, He made you with a special purpose, and in your life, there is God's timing for everything you need. How you live your daily life and the actions you take each day determine what your future will look like.
Today's Word of God teaches us to do everything without complaining or arguing. Complaints remove God's blessing from what you have done, even if it was a good deed. When you help your family, friends, or fulfill a family responsibility, do it with love, not complaints. The Word of God says: “Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14 (ESV)
The second lesson we learn from this verse, and which has been a struggle for many, is complaining against God. This Word was specifically written for the Corinthians who were saved and believed in Jesus. Many Christians complain about each other and even about God. The Amplified Bible translation states:
"Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God]...” Philippians 2:14 (AMPC)
Therefore, do not complain against God, especially when you have done much for Him but feel He has not done what you expected in return. Also, when we face hardships and challenges, it is easy to complain against God, just as the Israelites did. Whenever they faced challenges in the wilderness, they complained against God, saying He had brought them out of Egypt to die in the wilderness (Exodus 17:3). As they continued complaining, God became angry and destroyed them, saying that only their children would inherit the Promised Land (Numbers 14:1-24).
God wants you to be grateful and have faith in Him when facing challenges and trials. Do not complain to God or pray prayers that accuse Him, like saying, “God, why have You forsaken me?” or “Why don’t You hear me?” At times, you may feel God is punishing you or has left you to suffer, and your prayers become filled with bitterness, blame, and complaints.
Today, change your attitude. Be thankful to God in all things, and trust that He is with you in every situation to help and deliver you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You for the life You have given me. I ask for Your forgiveness for all my complaints. Today, I choose to trust in You, knowing that You are with me to help and bless me. Amen.
