GOD WANTS US TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER

"For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another." – 1 John 3:11 (NKJV)

In both the Old and New Testaments, love is given great importance as the foundation of spiritual life. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, He answered:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." – Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)

Love Is Proof of True Salvation. The Bible teaches that those who truly love others show that they have received eternal life. "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren." – 1 John 3:14 (NKJV)

Christian love should go beyond friendships or family relationships. It should include even those who dislike us, because Jesus taught us: "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." – Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)

True love is unconditional and extends to all people, not just those who are easy to love.

This teaches us that true love cannot exist where there is hatred, envy, and selfishness. On the other hand, Jesus Christ is the perfect example of God’s love. He said: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." – John 15:13 (NKJV)

Loving one another means:
Showing kindness – Helping others and sharing their burdens without expecting anything in return.
Forgiving others – Letting go of grudges and forgiving those who hurt us, just as God forgives us.
Being patient – Accepting others as they are, even with their weaknesses.
Serving others – Demonstrating love through actions, such as assisting those in need and encouraging the discouraged.

When we love one another, we bring the light of Christ into a world filled with darkness, hatred, and selfishness. God desires that everyone lives in love. This love is not just human love but divine love that transforms lives and brings peace to the world.

Prayer: Dear God of love, we thank You for Your grace and for teaching us to love one another. We ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we can show love to everyone, without discrimination. Amen.
