RECONCILIATION

"But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ." – Ephesians 2:13

One day, I was in a car with a friend when we gave a ride to a businesswoman. As we drove through the city, a beggar approached our car, and I rolled down the window to give them some money. To my surprise, the woman frowned and said, “I don’t like poor people.”

When I asked why, she explained, “The poor are cursed and will always suffer. I used to help them—I even employed some in my business—but they betrayed me. They stole from me, and I lost so much because of them.”

Her words revealed deep hurt. She had once been compassionate, but her painful experience hardened her heart. She vowed never to help anyone again and blamed the poor for the failure of her business.

I gently asked her, “How has your business been since you stopped helping others?” She admitted she had lost everything. Despite this, she still held onto bitterness and blame.

I felt led to share God’s Word with her. I reminded her that the enemy often uses pain to separate us from God’s purpose. Her calling was to help the less fortunate, and God had blessed her for it. But when she allowed the hurt to turn into hatred, she stepped away from her mission—and her blessings stopped as well.

By the time we parted ways, her perspective began to change. She realized that holding onto bitterness only pushed her further from God and His purpose for her life.

Now, let me ask you: Is there something you used to love doing for God—something you felt called to—but stopped because of pain, betrayal, or disappointment? The devil’s greatest tool is to distract and discourage you from your mission.

Today, I encourage you to pray for reconciliation. Ask God to heal your heart and reconnect you with the work He has entrusted to you. When we abandon His calling, we distance ourselves from Him. But through prayer and repentance, we can return to Him and rediscover His blessings.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for stepping away from the purpose You gave me. Heal my heart from the hurts that held me back. I ask that Your blood reconcile me with You and restore the mission You entrusted to me. I surrender myself to You again. Amen
