GOD'S GRACE IN YOUR WEAKNESS

"And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." – 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

When we speak of grace in the New Testament, it is a somewhat challenging topic, especially when addressing issues of sin and righteousness. Grace does not mean a license to sin. Grace is the power to overcome and erase sin.

Now, just because God has given us this favor (grace) to be forgiven whenever we fall, it does not mean we should live in sin. Romans 6:1-2 says: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"

Hebrews 10:26-27 says: "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

Grace is not for someone who intentionally commits sin and delights in doing evil. Such a person deserves judgment. Grace is for the person who has chosen to follow God but still struggles with weakness, still battles with sin. It is for the one who is remorseful and hates the fact that they fall into sin.

God’s grace is for this kind of person as Romans 7:19-20 says: "For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me."

Therefore, grace comes to help you by removing the guilt and regret you feel after falling into sin. Grace is now the power that gives you confidence before God and makes you righteous. Then grace gives you the strength to reject and overcome sin.

But this victory begins by overcoming internal condemnation, so that you see yourself as accepted and empowered to overcome every scheme and trap of the enemy.

So, the strength and power of God always manifest when you—who rely on Him—are at your weakest. And not just in the weakness of sin, but in any situation where you are trying to do good and face opposition. That is where God's grace and power are revealed in you. His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You for the grace You have given me. I ask for Your strength to overcome every temptation and trial of the devil. Amen
