LIVING FOR GOD
I Corinthians 10:31 NKJV says; "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
The apostle Paul reminds us that our whole life, not just some parts, must be dedicated to the glory of God. Even in the smallest things like eating and drinking, we are called to honor God. It means there is no division between “spiritual life” and “normal life.”
Everything we do—how we work, speak, dress, handle money, treat others—must reflect God’s holiness and bring Him praise. Living for God is not limited to church services or prayers only. It is a lifestyle of total surrender and obedience. This is the true purpose of life: to glorify the One who gave us life.
Why should you live for God and not for yourself? Because God created you for a purpose. You are not your own, and the hard truth is—you did not choose to be born. Your life was designed and given by God, and therefore it belongs to Him.
The world teaches a different message. It says: “Live happily, follow your heart, chase pleasures.” But these pleasures are temporary and have corrupted many lives. Some have made money their god. Yet Jesus said, “You cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24 NKJV). When money becomes your master, you are no longer living for God.
True satisfaction only comes from living in God’s purpose. Doing God’s will does not take life away from you. Instead, it gives meaning. Jesus said, “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 16:25 NKJV). Living for God means choosing to serve Him, even when people or circumstances push you otherwise.
It means following His Word and commandments in everything you do. It means asking yourself in every decision: “Will this bring glory to God?” That is the true way to live.
Prayer: Lord, help me live for You daily, glorifying You in all I do.
