SUFFICIENT GRACE
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” II Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)
Paul asked God three times to remove the thorn in his flesh (2 Corinthians 12:7–8). But God gave him an answer that has carried hope for many people: “My grace is sufficient for you.” God was saying, “Paul, I may not remove the thorn, but I will give you strength to live above it.”
This is the beauty of sufficient grace: God does not need you to be perfect to use you. You don’t have to be flawless to fulfill His purpose. Your weakness does not cancel your calling. In fact, His strength shines brightest in your weakness.
Think of Gideon. He was poor, afraid, and felt unworthy. Yet God chose him to deliver Israel (Judges 6:15). Gideon’s poverty and insecurity did not stop God’s power. Likewise, the thorn in your life — whether it is a challenge in your marriage, a difficult boss, or family struggles — cannot stop you from walking in God’s plan.
Paul learned maturity when he accepted the grace of God. Instead of being bitter about the thorn, he rejoiced that God’s power was resting upon him. You too must grow to that point where the thorn no longer defines you.
Sufficient grace is empowerment from God. It is His enabling power that carries you through storms, through pain, and through life’s challenges. It is the reason you will still succeed when others think you can’t.
So, don’t give up because of your weakness. Don’t disqualify yourself. Don’t think you are too broken, too sinful, or too weak for God. His grace is all you need. Stand tall today and move forward — not by your own strength, but by His sufficient grace.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your sufficient grace that carries me through every weakness
